Karaoke!

Last week we had the MA graduates over and Nora decided to get Stephanie to sing Karaoke with her. Stephanie is that one you know is going to make a great Kindergarten teacher!

Enjoy the Taylor Swifts!

Tae Kwon Do

Nora started Tae Kwon Do with her friend Kate about three weeks ago. She really is enjoying it and this week they got her a suit, so she is pretty excited about that.

Here comes the sun!

What a difference a week makes! Here are running pictures of Saturdays in March.

Last Week:

And although we didn't get a picture of it, there were three hens and a tom turkey in our yard this morning eating the greens that were popping up! Luckily they stayed away from my bulbs.

On Friday, March 26th - Roosevelt had their spring concert given by the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders - Appropriate for the weather, don't you think?

Here Comes the Sun

You are my Sunshine

Nora is in the second row, third from the left. Her shirt is white with a bit of a pattern. I thought the balcony would be a better view that it turned out to be!

Circle Game

Nora's friend Kate (her folks are also good friends of ours) had the concert ending solo so I just had to put it up here; it's so cute. All the kids sang the refrain, but groups of 3 to 6 (mostly 5th graders) sang the verses, the last verse by the group you see at the beginning of the clip. When they move is the first time anyone in the audience can see Kate. (She's also the other 3rd grade girl going to the regional science fair.)

The day ended with a party thrown by Rick - yes there are 48 candles on that cake! We had a really fun time with 15 adults and 9 girls! Thanks everybody!

Roosevelt Science Fair

Well there were about 70 3-5th graders showing their science projects in the gym today and guess which 3rd grader got the only perfect score from all three judges?!

If you like moldy bread - join us at MSU on May 1st for the regional science fair.

After 5 weeks in baggies, the two homemade bread slices were well on their way to compost, the Brownberry had a ring of green mold in the middle, and the Wonder Bread? As pristine as the day it was baked!

Nora's new question: If mold can't eat it, should we?

Klara turns 5!

Woohoo! We thought she'd never get there, but tomorrow we have Kindergarten round-up at Roosevelt. Notice that she is pretty petite compared to her peers.

Toby, Lauren, Owen, and Arya are from her preschool. Eli lives down the block.

Jacob and Eli (our neighbors) gave her a Nurf gun and darts. I don't think she likes it nearly as much as Dada, but at least she'll be armed when the boys come over with theirs.

BWCA trip article in the Mankato Free Press

Like any news story, not all the details are accurate, but for anyone other than us, it really doesn't matter. Enjoy!
