Home Improvement

BEFORE
AFTER
Nora decided it was time to have her own room, so in August we started remaking the guestroom - or "Rob's room" (now that he is working at Carlton). I was skeptical of the "grape green" at first, so I decided to keep the paneled wall white and add the leftover blue from our Nemo bathroom as an accent color on the external pipe, air duct, and in the closet. In addition to painting, I laid new grey shag carpet, and put up new baseboard, curtains, hooks, and a mirror, all in black. Nora painted a white wooden storage box that was built by the previous owner to fit in the back entry, which she will use for her night stand and winter bedding storage. (Note in the "after" picture the direction she stenciled her name on the top!) We also added a Target back-to-school-sale chair, ottoman, and lamps to finish it off. We're both diggin' the end result, and Nora thinks I'm the greatest! How long do you think that will last? ;-)

Here are a few more photos to see the whole room (before she adds her clutter):

Now, on to Klara's room. Look for an update in the future!
